We received notice today that we can begin finalization proceedings for Benjamin's adoption. Court house here we come!

Our Adoption Journey Timeline

July 30- God "drops money from the sky" so we can start our home study

September 15- Our first home study appointment

All documents for certification submitted to the agency

September 16- Start working on our dossier

September 28- Letter from the court saying they have received our "certification to adopt" and are expecting to read our home study within 30 days.

October 12- We follow our hearts and God's leading to change our course for adopting Baby #3. Domestic it is!

October 15- We sign with Christian Adoption Consultants and start putting together our "Family Profile".

November 1- "Our Story" is written, just finishing the pics for our profile.

November 15- Our Certification Finally Comes!!!

November 30- Our files are complete with 2 agencies, NOW THE REAL WAITING BEGINS!!!!

December 26- We have been matched!! We are waiting for our baby boy to be born on February 7, 2011.

January 18, 2011-Benjamin Jer William Sanborn is born in West Jordan Utah

January 19-She signed, we signed, we are now officially a family of 5!

January 25- Our ICPC (Inerstate paperwork) is complete and we welcome Benjamin home after a week of hotel living in Utah

February 17- 1st Post Placement Visit (Favorable Report)

One step closer to finalizing our adoption of Benjamin Jer

April 19- Paternity search completed, documents submitted to court when no paternity claim was found

May 4th- 2nd Post Placement scheduled

Septmeber 6- We have a date!!!! Thursday, November 10th at 9am we will finalize Benjamin's adoption! Yipee!!

November 10th- The court recognizes what we have know since we were chosen in December of 2010, Benjamin is a Sanborn!

February 13th- Bill flies to Utah to secure Benjamin's birth certificate:) Mission completed!

February 20th- Apply for Benjamin's social security card

February 28th- receive Benjamin's SS card in the mail!!!

Febrary 28th (immediately after opening SS card)- celebrate the end of our adoption paper trail!!!!!! For now.....
